Arterial
The arteries transfer oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body’s tissues. Arteries can harden or block due to peripheral arterial disease, which occurs when fat deposits, known as plaque, build up in the flow channel and obstruct flow.

Veins return blood to the heart. Superficial veins can enlarge due to increased pressure caused by faulty valves or blockages. This increased pressure can cause varicose veins with symptoms including aching, throbbing, itchy, tired legs.
Deep Vein
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition that occurs when a clot or thrombosis develops in the deep vein. Patients usually have a short history and present with a swollen and painful leg.
