He obtained his medical degree from the University of Natal in 1998. He qualified as a surgeon in 2007 and attained his certificate in vascular surgery in 2010. Dr Padayachy has been in private practice since 2011. In 2020 he became a founding member of the South African Lymphatic and Venous Society (SALVS).
